Pilates and Gyrokinesis®: A Fun Fall Full Moon Week | Tannis Kobrinsky

Canadian born Tannis began ballet studies at 4. By her teens she was dancing and teaching ballet, jazz and movement professionally in California. She’s taught movement and fitness in Los Angeles for over 30 years and Pilates for 10 years. She is certified by Pilates Master Rael Isacowitz, the creator of Body Arts and Science International Pilates. She is also a GYROTONIC® and GYROKINESIS® instructor certified by Juliu Horvath. Her fusion mat classes are a blend of healing energetics, dance stretch, strength training and yoga breathing, all done to eclectic music. Her students include chronic disease sufferers as well as dancers and athletes. She’s led retreats and healthy travel programs in Europe, the USA and Central and South America. She’s written articles on travel and mind/body practice for online and national print publications, including Pilates Style magazine. Tannis brings an innate love of people and joy of reciprocal learning, where student and teacher awaken one another, to all her classes, adding a touch of humor and heart to the work. TANNIS WILL TEACH CLASSES IN THE FOLLOWING:

GYROKINESIS® – Is a rejuvenating, flowing fusion of Tai Chi, Kundalini Yoga, self massage and Dance. The subtle energy work of GYROKINESIS® coordinates yoga-breathing with spiraling, arching and curling motions that work the total person, mind, body and soul. Tannis loves leading these “feel good” GYROKINESIS® session.

PILATES - This popular mind-body practice focuses on strengthening deep abdominal muscles and shoulder stabilizers, elongating muscles, and increasing the mind-body connection. Pilates strengthens and heals. Tannis brings fun and energy to her Pilates mat work and likes to say “laughter is a core exercise.” Accustomed to working with all fitness levels, she offers modifications and hands-on in instruction. Her classes are appropriate for everyone, from novices to pros.

Through the week you will learn the basics of these practices. More advanced students, progress to understanding form and function of the more advanced repertoire. Plus expect fun surprises like STANDING COREWORK, PARTNER PILATES, AND HELPING HAND HINTS. You’ll come away with a stronger body, joyful spirit and practical tools that will last a lifetime.

Molly Stevens (Visiting Cooking Teacher, La Cocina Que Canta)

Molly Stevens is a food writer, editor and cooking teacher.  Her cookbook, "All About Braising: The Art of Uncomplicated Cooking" (WW Norton) won a James Beard Award for Excellence and an International Association of Culinary Professionals award. Recently honored as the “2006 Cooking Teacher of the Year” by the IACP, Molly has been described in the New York Times Book Review as “a beautifully clear writer who likes to teach.” Food & Wine magazine listed her braising book as one of the top ten cookbooks of 2004. Molly’s articles and recipes appear regularly in Fine Cooking magazine where she is a contributing editor. She contributes to Bon Appétit, Saveur and the Oregonian. Her recipes and tips have also appeared in The New York Times, Everyday with Rachel Ray, Real Simple, Yankee, Drinks, and Real Food magazines.

Molly is the co-editor of "The 150 Best American Recipes," as well as the annual "Best American Recipes" series (Houghton-Mifflin). Previously, Molly co-authored "One Potato, Two Potato" (Houghton-Mifflin) with Roy Finamore. She also wrote "New England," part of the Williams-Sonoma New American Cooking Series (Time-Life).

Classically trained as a chef in France, Molly has directed programs and taught at the French Culinary Institute, New England Culinary Institute, and L’Ecole de Cuisine La Varenne in Burgundy, France and Venice, Italy. Molly continues to travel and teach cooking classes across the country.  She lives near Burlington, Vermont and serves on the board of directors for the Vermont Fresh Network.

Molly offers three hands-on culinary experiences, 3.5 hours each, during which you will enjoy preparing your own meal along with fellow cooks. An additional class will be added depending upon demand. You also will have the opportunity to harvest produce you use from our organic garden, Tres Estrellas. Transportation will be provided.

Dream On: Exploring Your Dream World | Veronica Tonay, Ph.D.

We all dream several times per night, and we remember even more dreams when we travel. Are dreams just meaningless, or do they hold some value? What gifts can they bring? In this program, you'll discover how listening to your dreams can help you to solve problems, develop your creativity, improve your relationships, meet your own wisdom, and visualize new goals.

Veronica Tonay, Ph.D., was one of several experts interviewed for a Discovery Channel series, "Dream Decoders" and has been interviewed as an expert on dream interpretation by major television networks. She earned her doctoral degree in psychology from the University of California at Berkeley in 1993. She is a licensed psychologist and practices psychotherapy in Santa Cruz, California. Veronica specializes in helping those experiencing depression, separation, loss, relationship issues, the effects of sexual abuse, life transitions and/or creative blocks. She also performs psychological testing and evaluations. Veronica has written articles about the hidden meanings of dreams for Redbook, Psychology Today, McCall's and Reader’s Digest. She is the author of “Every Dream Interpreted,” “The Creative Dreamer’s Journal,” and “The Creative Dreamer: Using Your Dreams to Unlock Your Creativity.”
