Steele Canyon has been awarded Golf Digest magazine’s Four Star Rating, one of only three golf clubs so honored in San Diego County. The 27-hole championship course was personally designed by Gary Player with respect and appreciation for the natural beauty of the terrain—which is similar to that of the mountains surrounding Rancho La Puerta. Each of the three nines offers a distinct environment and type of play for all levels of golfers with the rugged Canyon Course's dramatic shot making challenges and breathtaking elevations, the Ranch Course winding through the fields of a working ranch, and the Meadow course stretching along the valley floor with beautiful woodlands and streams.

Your 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. golf day includes an 18-hole round at Steele Canyon, cart rental, clubs rental (if necessary), box lunch, and transportation to and from the Ranch. (If you bring your own clubs the fee is reduced to $120, but why trouble with extra airline baggage? Steele Canyon’s rental sets are top-flight). Group or individual lessons can be arranged with the pros at Steele Canyon for an additional fee. Other food and beverages at the Clubhouse are not included.
