Rancho La Puerta was co-founded by a man, and it has always been co-ed. Men are welcome and they feel comfortable here, and most of our activities have great appeal to men—even if they don’t include a round of golf each morning! Whether you’d like to train for a specific sport or activity, or just get in general shape, the Ranch can challenge a man to whatever degree he desires—from easy-going to strenuous.
Don’t miss the men’s orientation on Saturdays at 3:45 pm. This orientation is for men only, and during it we highlight classes and activities that are of particular interest to men. We also tour the men’s health center and talk about treatments that men especially like, i.e. men’s facial, sports massage, etc.
A men’s “fitness concierge” is available throughout the week. Our concierge is a male instructor who will be teaching fitness classes during the entire week—men easily get to know him and can turn to him for advice on any fitness subject.
Classes at the Ranch that are especially appealing to men (in our experience) include: all hikes, men’s circuit, core workout for men, men’s yoga, strength training without weights, men’s stretch, volleyball, tennis and our new swim conditioning class and water running classes.
The Ranch also has a “golf day” where you can opt to be driven to a nearby championship golf course for a round. Our “Pre-Tee-Up/Stretching For Golfers” is a class that shows men various on-the-course workouts using golf clubs and golf cart—a great way to improve strength and flexibility (and lower your score).
