Rancho La Puerta proudly announces its new HYDRO-FIT aquatic exercise program, in partnership with renowned aquatic fitness pioneer Craig Stuart.

The most complete aquatic fitness program anywhere is now available at Rancho La Puerta, starting January 3, 2009. Licensed HYDRO-FIT instructors will teach multiple daily classes each week throughout the year in our spectacular new exercise activities pool—a facility especially designed for low-impact water workouts. Young or older, fit or ready for your comeback, achy knees or not…you’ll love the water at Rancho La Puerta and the almost miraculous results achievable when your body can exercise freely without impact.

Craig Stuart is the founder and Director of HYDRO-FIT®. A certified fitness instructor with AEA and ACE, Craig leads the water exercise industry as an innovator, specialist, educator and fitness professional. He is well known for his educational techniques focusing on the practical application of water-specific skills to enhance group exercise instruction. Craig is the 1992 recipient of the Contribution to the Aquatic Fitness Industry Award and the 2002 recipient of the Aquatic Therapy & Rehab Institute’s prestigious Tsunami Spirit Award.

Running in deep water reduces weight bearing stress by 90 percent and equals land running in its effect upon maintaining VO2 max when training intensities and frequencies are matched. Aqua Plus

Experience the joy of a workout free of weight bearing stress. Use specialized buoyancy and resistance equipment support in the deep water. Challenging aerobic exercise is combined with muscle conditioning to leave your entire body strengthened and invigorated.

Aqua Ther-X

Recovering from a recent injury or surgery? Our gentle Aqua Ther-X program is designed to enhance mobility, improve function and promote healing. Water provides support, assistance and resistance, the perfect environment for pain and free movement.

Cool Waves

Stretch muscles, relieve tension and revitalize your body in this gentle and restorative water workout. You will be amazed how the water's gentle support and resistance can lengthen your body and relieve muscle soreness.

Hydro-Pilates

Improve posture, enhance balance and develop core strength in this unique Pilates inspired water workout. Use simple buoyancy equipment and water's natural assistance and resistance to train the deepest muscle layers in your body.

Swim Conditioning

Improve your stroke technique and enjoy a great swim conditioning workout in our 33-meter lap pool. Our coach is "on deck" to help you get the most from your Hydro-fitswim experience. All levels are welcome, from novice to masters.

Waterworks

Experience the power of liquid resistance. Shape and tone your entire body while pushing fat-burning systems into high gear in this vigorous shallow water aerobic workout.

Wave Run

No matter what sport you do or fitness activity you enjoy, deep water running is an excellent cross-training activity. Learn how to improve function and enhance sports performance in a non-impact running workout.
