Calling all wine aficionados and foodies: you are invited to join us in celebrating fresh farm-to-table cuisine at our picturesque organic farm in Tecate, Mexico.

This Sunday Funday includes:

As you know, the cuisine of Baja California, Mexico, has exploded on the international food scene in the past 15 years, garnering accolades from all who travel to the most delicious—and experimental—culinary frontiers anywhere in the world.  brunch•wine•bazar celebrates the best of Baja’s fresh farm-to-table cuisine, robust reds, icy whites, and local brews.

*La Cocina Que Canta is the stunning cooking school of destination spa and fitness resort Rancho La Puerta, and is located at the edge of one of the West’s great organic gardens. Standard Cost: $180.00*

Are there ID requirements? Is there an age requirement? A valid passport is required; please take this with you to the event.  All guests must be 18 years of age and older.

A valid passport is mandatory for crossing the border. Should you not have your valid passport, please be aware that you will be detained at the border and will have to pay approximately $150 to take additional transportation back to your car. For non-U.S. citizens, please be aware of your country’s Visa and special border crossing requirements

What to wear…and bring: Wear comfortable, closed-toe shoes. Bring a hat and sunscreen (optional).

Physical requirements: If you have trouble navigating steps, slightly uneven brick paths, rustic tile floors, and being “out in the rows” in the vegetable garden, then this event is not for you. We are very sorry but we also cannot accommodate aids such as wheelchairs, walkers, scooters, etc.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event? Please present a printed or e-ticket upon boarding the bus.

What is the refund policy?

• With notice of more than 30 days prior to arrival date, all of payment will be refunded, less a cancellation fee of $50 per person.

• With notice of 14 to 29 days prior to arrival date, 50% of payment is non-refundable per person, with the balance held one year for a future Saturday.

• 13 days or less before arrival date, full payment is non-refundable per person.

•  La Cocina Que Canta reserves the right to reschedule or cancel The Baja Kitchen™ Brunch Wine Bazar.  For example, it may be cancelled due to inclement weather. Any fees will be returned in full if we cannot accommodate your schedule with a new date.

The name on the registration/ticket doesn’t match the attendee. Is that okay?
If the name of the guest going does not match the ticket, please inform us via email at reservations@rancholapuerta.com prior to the event. If you purchased a ticket for somebody else please have him or her reference your name upon check in.

What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?

Transportation is from the San Diego Visitor Center on East Mission Bay: 2688 East Mission Bay Drive, San Diego, CA 92109.
Meet at the 45 passenger luxury coach which will be waiting in the large parking area slightly north of the visitor center.

The bus leaves at 9:30 am, please be there early around 9:15 am. Look for the bus with The Baja Kitchen banner. You will arrive to La Cocina Que Canta at 11:00 am. The event concludes at 3:30 pm, and you will arrive back to the Visitor Center by 4:30pm.

Take the Clairemont Drive exit, EXIT 22, toward East Mission Bay Drive
Turn left onto Clairemont Dr. Click for Map
Drive into SD Visitor Center on East Mission Bay parking lot and find the Charter Bus with the Rancho La Puerta sign.  Meet at the 45 passenger luxury coach which will be waiting in the large parking area slightly north of the visitor center.

From 5 South
Take the Clairemont Drive exit, EXIT 22, toward East Mission Bay Drive
Turn left onto Clairemont Dr.
Drive into SD Visitor Center on East Mission Bay parking lot and find the Charter Bus with the Rancho La Puerta sign. Meet at the 45 passenger luxury coach which will be waiting in the large parking area slightly north of the visitor center.

A note about the bus ride…
Rancho La Puerta is reached via California State Highway 94 which runs southeast from downtown San Diego. The 22.3-mile stretch between Jamacha Junction and Tecate is a very scenic road through the mountains, but also very “curvy” in many parts. Our drivers are careful and considerate, but if you have a tendency toward motion sickness, please consider a motion-sickness medication.
