Cheryl Sternman Rule is the author of Ripe: A Fresh, Colorful Approach to Fruits and Vegetables (Running Press, 2012) and the forthcoming Yogurt Culture (Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, 2015). She is also the voice behind the award-winning website 5 Second Rule (5secondrule.typepad.com), named outstanding Culinary Blog by the International Association of Culinary Professionals in 2012. In 2008, she won the Greenbrier Award given by the Symposium for Professional Food Writers.
Cheryl’s work has also appeared in Cooking Light, Sunset, Body + Soul, Health, Women’s Health, Vegetarian Times, the San Jose Mercury News, the Santa Cruz Sentinel, and many more print publications; on numerous websites such as The Kitchn, Serious Eats, and Culinate; and in several books published by the American Heart Association and the EatingWell Media Group. Cheryl also served as a contributing editor at Eating Well Magazine and a columnist at both iVillage and recipe.com.
Despite living in the heart of Silicon Valley, Cheryl spends her days pursuing the decidedly low-tech crafts of cooking, writing, and eating.
