Comedy Writing for Television with Shelly Aronson will cover the process of writing network sitcoms from idea to final draft. It will include the pitch, breaking a story, creating an outline, writing a first draft, dealing with network and studio notes, rewriting, doing punch up, culminating in how a table read is performed with the cast. Ideas and scripts from hit sitcoms, which she worked on, will be studied.
Taught by Shelly Aronson, former Director of Comedy Development at Warner Bros. Television, HBO Independent Productions, and VP of 20th TV who worked on sitcoms such as Everybody Loves Raymond and Murphy Brown. She now manages comedy writers for television representing writers who work on The Big Bang Theory.
