Flying Lessons: How to Be the Pilot of Your Own Life with author, spiritual life coach, energy healer and photographer/Pamela Hale

A 5-part workshop

 1.  Introduction

You’ll be introduced to the ancient and powerful metaphor of flight, and to Pam’s story of how her pursuit of her private pilot’s license in her late ‘50’s taught her lessons for life. You’ll learn about the four forces of flight and about how they relate to managing your energy for your own “soaring” in life. You’ll complete a written “flight assessment” that will show you areas of strength and areas where you might want to work on your flight skills. And, as in each session, you’ll be treated to Pam’s stunning aerial photographs.

2.  Know Where You’re Going to Land

The first and most important flying lesson is the foundation for all the others. Who would risk flying in an airplane or in life without a safe landing place? Learn about how our inner safe landing spaces evolve, and reflect on what yours is and whether it is adequate for you now. Learn practices for contacting and strengthening your sense of security and safety, regardless of the outer world’s “weather.” Participate in group discussion, sharing and coaching by Pam.

3.  Bring Enough Fuel for the Journey

We all know that elementary safety principles of aviation require having adequate fuel on board, and yet in our private lives we often “run on fumes.” Learn to use Pam’s “dipstick” to measure your own personal fuel or energy. Explore what premium fuels truly nourish you. Discuss and practice applying this powerful tool to changing your “personal minimum” so that you will avoid crashes and renew your contract with yourself about taking 100% responsibility for your own energy.

4.  Remember Why You Long to Fly

Do you ever lose contact with the blissful joy of being in love with life? When you are discouraged, or when you encounter loss, challenge and disillusionment, how can you regain the “view of the eagle” who sees the big picture? Explore what inspires you and takes you to that higher level of leading, living and loving where “all is well.” This is the pivotal lesson about opening our heart and freeing the soul from its cage; this is the lesson that changes lives.

5.  The Flying Lessons for Life Process

Now it’s time to put these lessons to work in your life! Explore Pam’s model of the seven lessons and the challenge, chakra, archetype, gift, color and yoga pose that corresponds to each one. Learn how you can use a seven-step process to raise your level of “flying” through any challenging “weather” life presents. Pam will demonstrate coaching some volunteers through an introduction to her process and the group will discuss how it is relevant to relationships, health, money, parenting and other examples you may bring forth.
Pamela Hale, M.A. is devoted to offering ancient and contemporary creative tools for healing, transformation and restoring the sacred on the planet. Her individual consultations, workshops and retreats help people to see themselves, their lives and their possibilities “through a different lens.” A certified energy medicine practitioner, Pam offers a brand of life coaching that includes indigenous wisdom and healing, shamanic ceremonies and spiritual mentoring. Educated at Stanford and Columbia Universities, Pam also studied at the Four Winds Society and at Tacheria School for Spiritual Direction.  A pioneer in therapeutic photography, she is creator of the photographic Sand Spirits Insight Cards and author of the award-winning Flying Lessons: How to Be the Pilot of Your Own Life. Pam is a popular speaker who weaves in her photography, metaphor and storytelling about becoming a licensed pilot in her ‘50s and the healing journey from cancer that led her to experiences with shamans in Latin America and the Southwest. A mother of two and grandmother of five, Pam lives outside Tucson, AZ, with her husband, Jon Trachta.
