Being An Effective Board Member and Having Fun Doing It - Tuesday 4pm
You might sit on a nonprofit or for-profit board. Or you just might want to know what to do if you are ever asked to join a board of directors or decide that you want to participate in a new way. Boards of directors can be boring, ineffective, rubber stamps, filled with conflict, or just not have much focus -- but it does not have to be that way. Based on his national-wide course, “21st Century Standards and Practice for Boards of Directors,” this session will help you bring out the fun, the real excitement that being on a board can provide. And if you have never been on a board of directors, you will benefit from this session by gaining insights into how to make being a board member a truly meaningful experience.
Creating Your Own "To Stop List": An Essential Step To Better Living - Wednesday 4 pm
Are there are things that you keep doing that you would like to stop doing because they are not helping you in life? Or maybe you want to stop doing something poorly? This session is about having fun identifying a new process where you can list these things you want to stop, or stop doing poorly, in a way that really promotes being able to change your behavior. You’ll receive the article "The To Stop List - The Better To Do List" during this session. Every participant will leave this interactive session with several important items written down on their "to stop list" and will have a new approach to making this “to stop list” one of the most effective lists you’ve ever developed in your life. During this session we’ll explore how to create a to stop list that is so effective you can even use your own “to stop list” to help others stop doing things that you want them to stop!
