GYROKINESIS® exercise is a complete movement system, for all levels and ages, and can be applied to a variety of situations, as one needs very little equipment. It incorporates many key principles from yoga, dance, gymnastics and Tai Chi. The class begins with the practitioner seated on a low stool and begins with simple breathing patterns to awaken the body. He or she mobilizes the spine and joints through a series of arching, curling and spiraling movements. The corresponding breathing patterns in every movement help to stimulate the nervous system and open up energy pathways. Rhythm, movement, & breath are the key elements of this system accessible for all fitness levels.
Gina Muensterkoetter was born and raised in Germany in the western part of Germany in a city close to Muenster in Nordrhein Westfalen.
She has been involved in athletics her entire life. Competitive swimming, fencing, and professional volleyball are all a part of her fitness history. Gina was in the German volleyball major league for 12 years and on the national team for four.
Her academic education includes a degree in sports and biology and a degree in sports therapy from the Technische Universitaet Munich. Gina's degree as a Sports Therapist, specializes in injury prevention and rehabilitation.
She was introduced to the GYROTONIC EXPANSION SYSTEM® in 1994 and became a GYROKINESIS® and GYROTONIC® Master Trainer in 2000. Gina is GYROTONIC®'s founder, Juliu Horvath's educational and executive assistant since 1999. Gina's gentle, clear, patient and loving instruction is embraced by all who are lucky enough to come into contact with her.
