GYROKINESIS® exercise is a complete movement system, for all levels and ages, and can be applied to a variety of situations, as one needs very little equipment. It incorporates many key principles from yoga, dance, gymnastics and Tai Chi. The class begins with the practitioner seated on a low stool and begins with simple breathing patterns to awaken the body. He or she mobilizes the spine and joints through a series of arching, curling and spiraling movements. The corresponding breathing patterns in every movement help to stimulate the nervous system and open up energy pathways. Rhythm, movement, & breath are the key elements of this system accessible for all fitness levels.
While in high school, Jackson Kellogg was introduced to GYROTONIC® and immediately connected with the movements and practiced it in his spare time. In 2003, after completing college at the University of New York, Jackson began his teaching career. Jackson started his first six months of teaching at GYROTONIC® Boulder. As his career developed he began teaching GYROKINESIS® / GYROTONIC® at the Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet. Jackson moved to Miami and lived there for two years teaching at the Miami City Ballet, studying GYROTONIC®, and taking care of the GYROTONIC® Educational Headquarters of Miami Beach, where he taught many courses with the founder of GYROTONIC®, Juliu Horvath.
After two years in Miami, Jackson moved to New York to teach at Columbus Circle GYROTONIC® Manhattan. Jackson has taught in Athens, Greece, Pietro Gagliardi and Marika Vanuzzi in Rome, Italy, and has also taught GYROKINESIS®
courses in the Philippines with Carolyn Lim.
