For many of us summer is over. We’ve had our vacations, the kids are back in school and the weather may be cooling down. There’s a shift in the air and the annual transition from summer to fall is just around the corner.
We’re coming towards the time of year where we’re gearing up to spend more time indoors and leaving our warm tans behind us. So what can we do to continue to feel that vibrancy that we did in the summer? What can we do to step up our fall fitness?
The good news is that for many of us, the summers are almost too hot to exercise outdoors during the day. But with autumns cooling temperatures, sometimes there’s nothing more invigorating than a jog or walk outside in the crisp air. You’ll have much more energy to put into your workout when you’re not trying to battle the hot sun.
If you’re one of those people that absolutely thrive in warm weather, fall may also be the perfect time to take up some hot yoga. It happens to be one of my favorite activities, and there’s no better time to sweat with some fellow yogis than when it’s chilly outside.
No matter what, it’s important to stay consistent with our workouts year round! Even though I would say it’s enticing to take it down a notch during the colder months, making an effort to stay fit during the fall and winter certainly makes it much easier once the holidays comes around. Not to mention swimsuit season!
What are your favorite ways to workout in chilly weather? We’d love to hear about them!
