Luxurious, comfortable and accommodating

Rancho La Puerta's 3,000 acres include 32 acres of gardens; hiking trails; an organic farm; several pools; extensive spa and fitness facilities; a salon; individual casitas for guests; a large dining hall, gift shop, and an intimate library -- as well as numerous inviting lounges and conference rooms.

Hiking trails

Miles and miles of our own meadows, hills, and mountain trails wind through boulder-strewn wild lands once inhabited by the Kumeyaay. Many trails are suitable for all levels of hiking. Experienced hikers and trekkers enjoy our more challenging trails. All hikes are scheduled and led by experienced guides.

Organic Farm and Kitchen

Our 6-acre farm, Rancho Tres Estrellas, produces organically grown vegetables, herbs, and fruit used by Rancho La Puerta’s chefs. Here, too, we press our olive oil from organically grown olives, and distill or dry herbs for culinary, aromatherapy, and skin-care use. Nearby is our new culinary center, La Cocina Que Canta and Las Piedras Environmental Education Center and Parque Professor (Professor’s Park), both built by the Szekely family as gifts to the community of Tecate.

Dining Hall

A spacious Spanish Colonial dining hall seats 100 on its main floor, 50 on a mezzanine reached by a majestic spiral staircase encircling a fireplace. Surrounding patios with splashing fountains beckon those who enjoy dining outdoors.

Labyrinth

A full-size replica of the ancient labyrinth found in Chartres Cathedral offers a meditative experience in a peaceful oak grove.
