Alex von Bidder is a long-time friend of Rancho La Puerta and is currently the Chairman of our Board of Directors.  As the managing partner of the famed Four Seasons Restaurant in New York for many decades, Alex von Bidder cultivated human connections across borders and cultures with individuals at the highest echelons of society.   He brings a depth of spirit and a multiplicity of professional skills to all his passions from serving ten years as a trustee of Tibet House to being a guest Lecturer at Cornell University in Restaurant Management, Columbia University on Creativity and Personal Mastery, and in New York University on Civility and Modern Manners.

Alex co-founded the New York community of the Mankind Project, a global network of peer-facilitated men’s groups supporting men in leading lives of integrity, authenticity, and service.  He has been a mentor and coach to many, an avid sailor, yoga instructor,  a champion of diversity and a loyal, dependable and supportive friend.
