I attended a very interesting talk this week by Annette Borsack regarding how to cleanse your body of toxins. Personally, I find this stuff fascinating especially since we live in a pretty toxic environment. The ancient methods she describes go back to Ancient Egypt and are still practiced today by many people.
The good news was that I was already doing one of the methods that Annette described. I’ve been dry brushing on and off for a couple of years now. Dry brushing is great for cellulite, disease prevention, circulation and cell renewal. It’s really simple and only takes a couple of minutes to do every day. You run the brush in a circular motion over your lymph glands toward your heart. So from your knees to your groin and the end of your arms towards your chest.
Castor Oil Packs
I had never heard of this method before, but there were a couple of people in the class that attested to how great it works. You can use these packs for headaches, PMS, cramps, tummy aches and pain of all types. According to Annette, you can use these daily, but never over an open wound.
Magnetic Clay Foot Baths
Clay draws impurities through the skin to remove them. Annette suggests taking a clay foot bath once a week to remove toxins that have built up. You can also turn the clay into a paste to help with bee stings or bug bites. She mentioned that the clay can be very powerful so use carefully.
To detox heavy metals from your body use:
- Garlic to detox lead.
- Kelp to detox mercury.
- Cilantro to detox aluminum.
