Happy Hands and Feet Massage

Hiking and running in the morning are some of my favorite forms of exercise and meditation. Afterwards I feel ready for my day. After logging my miles I look for ways toRanchJan20140883 restore my tired feet. Indulging in the Happy Hands and Feet treatment at Rancho La Puerta was a great reset for my body and mind. The treatment was unique and different than the Classic Massage I normally have.

As I laid on the massage table, a cloth with a refreshing blend of lemon and lime oils was passed under my nose as I took three deep breaths. The aroma of fresh citrus helped me relax. The masseuse then gently massaged cream into my arms and hands, working out the tension in my muscles with her thumbs, before moving to my legs and feet.  The Happy Hands and Feet massage had a gentler touch than reflexology, which goes deeper into the muscles,  but it was no less restoring and satisfying.

Next, the therapist massaged warm organic paraffin into my hands and feet and then covered them with warm booties.  The warmth loosened my joints while the organic paraffin hydrated my skin. The 50-minute massage was very relaxing and restoring.

As I walked back to my villa after the treatment, my feet felt smooth, fresh and energized, ready for my next hike. I felt completely restored.
