Of all the signs in the Zodiac, Virgo best represent the essential qualities of Rancho La Puerta. Virgo is the sign of healing, which is what The Ranch is all about. Virgos like to make things pure and perfect. Anyone lucky enough to experience Ranch magic knows it is one of the most restorative, peaceful, and healthy places on planet Earth.
As we celebrate the birthdays of all Virgos, keep in mind that their methodical nature and extreme attention to details can be exhausting. Virgos need to sleep more than other signs, and more importantly they need to spend a lot of time outdoors to maintain their health. Many people rarely get a chance to walk barefoot, but it is actually one of the healthiest things a human can do. The Earth gives off energy that we need, and walking barefoot helps to recalibrate our systems. Exposure to the ground provides an electrical nutrient. Think of it as Vitamin G for Grounding.
Jill Thiry, who manages all of the schedules for The Ranch fitness staff, is a Virgo and she has the perfect job for her Sun Sign. Virgos are all about being logical and organized. Keeping The Ranch running smoothly works because of that exquisite attention to every detail, which guests feel the minute they enter the property. It helps all of us feel more relaxed to be in a place that cares so much about all aspects of our experience. However, the unattainable goal of perfection, if not tempered by a Virgo, can lead to anxiety and exhaustion.
For optimum health, Virgos should avoid alcohol and spicy foods, enjoy regular massages, and practice restorative yoga. Virgos can try using lavender and lemon balm oil to help ease their nerves. Since Virgos are usually good with their hands, a smart outlet for their creativity would be Jennifer’s great art and jewelry making classes, or the sculpture classes with her husband.
This is also a perfect month for clearing out closets, the garage, and the refrigerator. Virgos know an organized home makes for a more peaceful mind.
Virgos on our fitness staff that you may know are Hazel Stricker (doing grounding and yoga simultaneously in the photo above), Jennifer DeMarco and Denise Dobrzenski.
Stay tuned for next month when we turn our focus to Libras!
