Reserving the Week -- that will change your life

TO RANCHO LA PUERTA

We provide scheduled, complimentary ground transportation for your Saturday arrival and departure to and from San Diego International Airport. In Terminal #1, we wait for arriving guests to contact our representative across from the Hallmark store. In Terminal #2, proceed to the Traveler's Information Desk (across from the baggage claim area) and contact our representative there. Our staff can NOT seek you out in the terminal. We do not pick up your luggage from baggage claim carousels. The luggage tags we send you are to help us spot you in the terminal.

If you arrive via the Commuter Terminal, take the airport's Red Bus to Terminal #1; a Rancho La Puerta staff member will meet you across from the Hallmark store. Travel time to the Ranch is approximately 1.5 hours.

Arriving in San Diego by train? We don't meet guests at the train station, but do save your taxi receipt. We will reimburse your fare from the train station to the airport, where you can catch one of the scheduled Ranch buses.

Our charter buses depart the San Diego International Airport at: 8:00 a.m. 10:00 a.m. 12:15 p.m. and 2:45 p.m.

Passports and Mexican Tourist Tax

On June 1, 2009, the U.S. government implemented the full requirements of the land and sea phase of WHTI. U.S. citizens entering the United States at sea or land ports of entry must have a passport, passport card, or other travel document approved by the Department of Homeland Security. For more information, please click here.

This essentially means that most of our guests MUST have their passport to enter and leave Mexico. Visitors from countries other than the US or Canada via San Diego (and returning to San Diego) must also bring a passport and any necessary and current visas that allow re-entry into the U.S. Also, they should check with their country's Mexican Consulate to obtain a visa or to find out if citizens qualify under a visa waiver.

Mexican Tourist Tax will be collected by a Rancho La Puerta representative during your arrival process. You will need to bring $30 U.S. Dollars in cash (small denominations to ensure you have the exact amount).

Planning Your Flight to San Diego

For the latest information about air travelers’ carry-on regulations in the United States, go to the “Travelers” section of www.tsa.gov.

Rancho La Puerta supports organizations that promote the health of planet Earth. One that we would like to call your attention to is CarbonFund.org, a non-profit that funds renewable energy, efficiency and sequestration projects. The idea is to offset the damage that is being done by our industrialized society to water, land and air by donating to "green" resources and alternatives. We encourage you to exchange your air travel miles for carbon credits, so that your journey to the Ranch has no effect on the overall health of the planet. For more information, please click here.
