GYROKINESIS®

GYROKINESIS® exercise is a complete movement system, for all levels and ages, and can be applied to a variety of situations, as one needs very little equipment. It incorporates many key principles from yoga, dance, gymnastics and Tai Chi. The class begins with the practitioner seated on a low stool and begins with simple breathing patterns to awaken the body. He or she mobilizes the spine and joints through a series of arching, curling and spiraling movements. The corresponding breathing patterns in every movement help to stimulate the nervous system and open up energy pathways. Rhythm, movement, & breath are the key elements of this system accessible for all fitness levels.

B.Ed., Major in Physical Education, McGill University and Director of GYROTONIC® MONTREAL, is a Certified Specialized Master Trainer in GYROTONIC® and GYROKINESIS® and is a Specialized Master Trainer on GYROTONIC® Specialized Equipment as well as Level II GYROTONIC® and GYROKINESIS® and is a Certifying GYROKINESIS® teacher

She began her career in Classical Ballet has been instructing private individuals as well teachers in intelligent movement education for forty years.  Her GYROTONIC® and GYROKINESIS® education was received in the United States and Europe, with Juliu Horvath, (founder of Gyrotonic and Gyrokinesis) as well as studies in GYROTONIC® Medical Applications with Paul Horvath, GYROTONIC® Master Trainer and Head Physiotherapist at the Orthopedic Hospital Rheintalklinik, Germany

Nancy is also a Certified Naam Yoga and Shakti Naam Teacher, Reiki Healer and in 2013 studied Crystal Bowl Healing Work with Master Crystal Bowl Shaman, Teacher and Performer Jay Schwed

Her clients and students are elite dancers, Olympic athletes, practitioners of all kinds and as well as non athletes who want to live fully and move with ease, grace and dignity.  Nancy is one of the first people to bring this work to Canada.  She was first introduced to GYROKINESIS® in 1993 and continues to study and train with Juliu continuously, bringing his latest work to all.
