Wisdom Keeper Week – Saved by a Poem

Week of March 2, 2019

A Broken Hallelujah: Poetry as the Language of the Soul
Poetry is the language of your innermost self, where the grit of your humanness meets the grace of your vastness. It can literally change brain chemistry and thus dissolve old patterns of thought, feeling, and physiology, aligning you with what is true, innocent, intimate, and holy within. This Poetry Dive (an immersive inner journey guided by spoken poems and music) is designed to melt your defenses, liberate the flow of your feelings, and free your unique expression. You do not need to recite, write or even like poetry to discover its power in this unique way!

Death’s Doorway: Poetry as the Language of Mystery
Only poetry can speak to and through us of the great Mystery of death. Through poetry, the unspeakable can be spoken, the unendurable endured, and the miraculous shared. This Poetry Dive (see above description) will focus on mystical poems that help us to meet loss and carry us through to the deepened aliveness that inevitably follows.

Courageous Speech: Poetry as the Language of the Heart
Poems can speak the mystery, the silence, the ineffable joys and sorrows of the inner life. When you give voice to a poem, you are giving voice not only to the words, but to your true being, your naked heart. In this offering Kim will invite you to explore speaking a poem as a revelation of your innermost self. Poems will be provided, or you are welcome to bring your own.
